Detailed Instructions

If you have an Apple device, download the MowSnowPros App from the App Store here.  If you have an Android device, download the MowSnowPros App from the Google Play Store here.

You must log into the MowSnowPros app to request On Demand lawn mowing or snow shovelling.  Once logged in, you can also enter your property attributes to see the suggested bid price without ordering service.  Note that suggested prices can change based on live weather conditions.

If you do not currently have a MowSnowPro account, we recommend creating an account using your email address.

During sign up, select the city where the property you want service is located.  If your city is not listed, we do not currently offer service there.  Watch our website for updates as we launch in new cities in the future.

If you forgot your password, use the button to reset your password.

Once you are logged in, you will see a blue banner at the top of the screen that says “MowSnowPros”.

In order to request service, you must add a credit card to your account.  If you only want to see the recommended bid price, you can skip this step for now.

To add a credit card, tap the menu button in the top left corner (the box with lines in it).  Ensure the toggle at the bottom of the menu correctly reflects whether you are requesting snow shovelling (“Snow”) or lawn mowing (“Mow”).

Next, tap “Payment” and then “Add Credit Card”.

Enter your card number, CVC (the 3 digit number on the back) and expiration MM and YYYY.  Tap the green “Add Card” button.

  • MowSnowPros uses Stripe for secure online payments and accepts all major credit card types.

Once your card has been added, it will be displayed on the Payments screen.  Tap the back arrow in the top left corner of the screen.

In order to see the recommended bid or order service, you need to add the property address and attributes.  Tap the white “SEND A MOWSNOWPRO TO” bar at the top of the screen.

If you have previously entered an address, it will be displayed here.

Tap the “Add” button in the top right to add a new address.  “Step 1” will display at the top of the screen.

In the Address box, enter the street address of the property you want service to be dispatched to.  Be sure to include all of the address, including direction (e.g. N, NW) or unit # if applicable.  Note that this does not need to be your home address, MowSnowPros can also be used for servicing your rental properties or neighbours homes as a gift to them.  (The credit card you added in step 2 will be charged for the service).

In the Postal Code box, enter the postal code.

When you tap the Province box, a list of provinces where MowSnowPros operates will display.  Tap your province and then tap “Continue” at the bottom of the screen.

When you tap the City box, a list of cities where MowSnowPros operates will display.  Tap your city and then tap “Continue” at the bottom of the screen.  If your city is not listed, we do not currently offer service there.  Watch our website for updates as we launch in new cities in the future.

Tap “Continue” when the property address has been entered.  “Step 2” will be displayed at the top of the screen.

Enter a nickname for the property, like “my house”, “grandma’s house”, “Main St Rental”, etc.

For Lawn Mowing:

  • Tap the property type and areas to be mowed that most closely resembles what you want done.  The typical square footage associated with that job is shown on the image. If the amount of lawn to actually be cut is more or less, you can adjust your bid price accordingly.
  • Tap “Select Lawn Type” and indicate whether your lawn is mostly level ground, or if it has significant inclines. Tap “Done”.
  • Tap “Select Service Type” and indicate whether you want the MowSnowPro to use a trimmer to cut down the grass that cannot be cut with a lawnmower. This includes against fences, around trees, and at the edges of your lawn.  Trimming is generally recommended.
  • The average bid price will be displayed. You can now set your default bid price which will be saved and used each time you request service in the future.
  • In the “ADDITIONAL COMMENTS” field, enter any information that will be helpful for the MowSnowPro to service the property to your satisfaction. This includes things like:
    • >>Additional areas to mow or trim which may not be obvious (e.g. back alleys)
    • >>Where to leave the lawn trimmings (by default, these will be left unbagged in the green or black bin, or left on the property if bins are not available)
    • >>Areas which you do not want mowed or trimmed
    • >>If you want the lawn mowed to a particular height
  • Tap “Submit” to save all of the above in the app.
  • Tap the address you just entered to return to the home screen.

Note that you have not actually requested service yet – that happens in the next step.

For Snow Shovelling:

  • Tap the areas to be shovelled that most closely resembles what you want done.
  • Tap “Select Driveway Size” and indicate how many cars the driveway accommodates.  If your driveway accommodates more than 3 cars, we recommend increasing the bid price by ~$5 per additional car space.
  • Tap “Select Driveway Type” and indicate whether the driveway is a solid surface (easier to shovel) or a more difficult surface like gravel or dirt.
  • The average bid price (for a “typical” snowfall) will be displayed. You can now set your default bid price which will be saved and used each time you request this service in the future.
  • In the “ADDITIONAL COMMENTS” field, enter any information that will be helpful for the MowSnowPro to service the property to your satisfaction. This includes things like:
    • >>Additional areas to shovel which are not included in the image selected (e.g. areas in the back yard, detached garage aprons, etc.). Remember to increase the bid price accordingly for fastest service.
    • >>If you do or do not want ice salt used on icy areas
  • Tap “Submit” to save all of the above in the app.
  • Tap the address you just entered to return to the home screen.

Note that you have not actually requested service yet – that happens in the next step.

On the home screen of the MowSnowPros app, the nickname and address you want serviced should be shown in the white bar.

  • If you need to change it, tap the white bar and tap the correct address (or follow the instructions in step 3 to add a new property).

Tap the blue “Request a MowSnowPro” when you want to order lawn mowing or snow removal service.  (To switch, tap the menu button in the top left and use the toggle switch at the bottom).

A popup will appear where you can set the bid price for this particular job and update the additional comments.  A higher or lower bid may be appropriate based on the amount of snowfall or amount of time since your last mow.

Tap “REQUEST A MOWSNOWPRO”.  A popup will summarize the charges which will be applied.  You must tap “YES PLEASE” to confirm the request.

After requesting a job, you will be returned to the MowSnowPros home screen where a message on the bottom will indicate that we are waiting for a MowSnowPro to accept your request.  You can cancel the request during this time by tapping “Cancel request” in the lower right corner of the screen.

  • Since the MowSnowPro will not accept the job until they are ready to travel to your property, it may take a few hours for the job to be accepted.
  • Jobs with a lower than average bid price may take the longest to be picked up.
  • Jobs not accepted will automatically time out after 48 hours and need to be resubmitted.

When your job is accepted by a MowSnowPro contractor, the bottom of the screen will change to a progress bar.   33% means your MowSnowPro is on their way.  If you are using an Android device, a push notification will also communicate this.

When the MowSnowPro starts the work, the bar will change to 66% and a photo of your property before the work started may appear.

When the job is completed, the progress bar will change to 100%, your credit card will automatically be charged, and you will have the opportunity to rate your MowSnowPro or decline providing a rating.  A photo of your property after the work is completed may appear on the home screen.

After this, you can easily request another service the next time you need it by starting at step 4.  Thank you for being a MowSnowPros user!
