Frequently Asked Questions

Learn more about what it means to be a MowSnowPros Independent Contractor.

As an approved MowSnowPro independent contractor, you will see available jobs in the app as they are posted. You can review the details, location, and pay and choose to accept the jobs you want. Once accepted, you will have a limited amount of time (typically 2-4 hours) to travel to the location and start the job. Use the app to take “before” photos and then complete the requested work. Take good “after” photos to showcase the work you have done. The customer will be notified automatically at every step in the process, so you don’t need to speak with them at any point. You will receive an EFT bank deposit for the amount offered (plus any add-ons and tips) 10-11 days after completing a job.

During the winter, the most work is typically available immediately following a snow fall. During the summer, lawn mowing jobs are typically available throughout the season although will be most plentiful early in the morning. If it is rainy, work cannot be performed. Spring and Fall cleanup jobs are weather dependent.

As an independent contractor, you are responsible for providing all transportation, labour, and equipment required to complete a job. Consider the expenses you will incur performing the work, versus the payment offered, before accepting a job. There is no penalty for not picking up a job. Review the detailed equipment information, by job type, below.

There are no built-in limits to how much you can earn as a MowSnowPro, although the nature of the work (outdoor yard maintenance) and type of equipment you have will impact how many jobs you can perform in a day. Here are some averages from 2021:

Spring Cleanup: $130.19 average earning per job
Lawn Mowing: $36.62 average earning per job
Fall Cleanup: $115.94 average earning per job
Snow Shovelling: $27.26 average earning per job

Our top MowSnowPros are able to do over 100 lawn mowing jobs per month during the growing season, and over 200 snow shovelling jobs during snowy months. We also have many MowSnowPros who only pick up a handful of jobs per month when it fits into their schedule.

You will input your banking information (i.e. institution number, transit number, account number) into the MowSnowPros Contractor app. Verification and payments are handled by Stripe, a secure third-party company. Payouts of money earned are initiated on the 8th day after job completion, and should take 2 business days to arrive in your bank account. You can check the status of your earnings and payouts at any time in the MowSnowPros Contractor app.
